Name: Tar Nusso

Location: Southern California, USA

Description: 2001 Black 2WD with the L package, sunroof, roof rack, leather interior, etc. The rims are 5Zigen 17x7.5 on Michelin Pilot LTX tires(245/65R17).

Future upgrades: I've already ordered Brembo cross-drilled rotors, and am currently looking for strut tower braces, and sway bars.

Tire Comments: The tires are approximately 29.54" x 9.65". I think that this is the biggest size tire that you can go WITHOUT rubbing, on a 2001 model. The biggest concern actually isn't the height, but is the width. If you've noticed, the rear wheel well doesn't have that much depth clearance at all. I have about 3 millimeters clearance from the inside of the tire to the arm that supports the strut (but that's ok since the rear tires only spin and don't turn). I guess you don't have to worry about this if you don't mind your wheels sticking out. For me, I wanted them to be flush with the side of the car so I used a +48 offset. The front wheels are fine. When I crank the wheel all the way, it misses the fenders by about a centimeter. I already thought that the RAV4 has pretty good handling, but after I put on these tires, it's performance just blew me away. However, each wheel does weigh 11 lbs. more than my stocks (5 spoke-split with 215/70R16 Brigdestone Duelers), which takes a little bit of power away from my starts, but the increased traction makes up for it. The mileage is about the same (~25mpg, taking into account that the odometer is reading less than it should).
