The FIRST 2001 RAV4
in the Gallery!!

"Silver 2001 RAV4 4X4 152hp

Features: 'Europe package' that includes, painted fender flares, rear spare tire cover, ABS, automatic transmission, keyless entry with engine inmobilizer, integrated fog lamps into the front bumper, rear fog lamp, 4 wheel disc brakes, 16" sport alloy wheels. Materials used in this car are much better than its predecessor, better comfort seats, better brake feel and handling, the car is just a must in your home.

First, let me tell you that I'm a Toyota lover (Lexus too). I used to race cars here with the local Toyota Team for 8 years (1984 Toyota Starlet 1500cc), I have a silver Lexus GS400 and white pearl RX300 (this is my wife's) Back to RAV's, I drove the car from the Port of arrival from the Pacific Ocean in Costa Rica, to San Jose (where I live) which is only a 65 mile drive in a road with lots of closed curves and climbing mountains all the time, the power is Ok, better than the old one (since I can compare it with my old 1996 RAV4 which was also an automatic transmission), brakes are incredible (4 discs). Also, same day I drove for a few miles a (2001) 5 speed gear box, the feel is totally different, the gear shift is short and you don't have to look where to place the next gear change, it feels solid and accurate. I'm planning to buy a second one but with 5 speed gear box soon.

Note the placement of the battery in the engine compartment photo. It's located in the upper left corner of the photo. To access it, you have to unscrew with a coin 5 plastic screws and remove the black cover, difficult? not much.....

The rear seats are adjustable to give more room to the cargo area (sliding motion on the cushions), also there is a weird detail for the rear middle seat belt. It has a mechanism that rolls the belt on and off is located in the roof right above the cargo area, so if you are not going to use it, you can just unlock the 2 belt-locks and let it roll into place (when it's working you will see it from your inside rear view mirror). I hope you understand what I mean, I don't speak English, I'm trying to do my best here.

I have a business of selling & installing leather kits on cars, so usually when a new car arrives, I take pictures of all the details of the seats and door panels. Take a look at the detail of the stainless-steel look of the door handles, also the detail of the sliding rear seats, the factory fabric is beautiful, so nice, that I'm not planning to put leather into my own car, not for now. Also I took a great picture of the front grill & bumper. Enjoy the pictures . . .

By the way, I have a web page of my business, you are invited to visit at: www.motexsa.com"
