Christian has a 1998 4WD 4DR with a 5 speed transmission. He bought it in January of '98 (paid u$s 34,000). Christian has added the following options - tinted film, rear bumper, side bars, Hella 550 driving lights, CD-Changer and equalizer, hood cover, alarm, center console and seat covers. "I installed 225-75/16 Dunlop Grandtrek AT1 tires and new springs (made by a factory in Argentina) that are 4 cms taller than the originals. With these changes I increased the ground clearance between 6 and 7 cms and it works great in off road. Obviously the new tires are noisier than the originals but they have excellent grip on most surfaces. I also bought two Rancho RS-5000 shocks for the rear. They are very rigid for the RAV4. They work very well on the highway and off road, but not in the city. The vendor told me that they would work fine but he was wrong. Future plans include some cosmetic things like fenders, body cladding graphics, clear lenses and others."
