I would think that it would still leave water spots and streaks...
Would be almost the same effect as washing it then driving around the block... air is flowing to dry it off...
I think the best method is using that reusable rubbery towel thingy (chamois) ??? that absorbs the water and then you squeeze the water out, and then start drying again.... otherwise soft bathroom type towels...
Just my .02 cents.... |

| I have heard good reports on using the leaf blower. To me it would be much like the air blast you get in a drive through car wash. I never get water spots there. I do have to mop up with a micro fiber towel in places like mirrors and door handles. |

I use my air compressor to dry some parts if I am in a real hurry,,
But the leaf blower is for cleaning my shed,,,
So it is technically my Shed cleaner
As for the Car,, 2 large, white, dedicated soft Towels are what i use,,
and I can dry it in about 5 minutes....
I luv it when I am out at the car wash and others have those small, shimy, shamies,,
and i pull out 2 M@%#%r towels ...
I usually start after them, finish before, and tell them,
"you've missed a spot"
Cheers, Walt |

The reason I am asking to see if people have or have not, when going to a car wash they have theses hugh blowers that push the water off the truck.
Thats all I am looking for to see if it would blow allot of the water off, then use a microfiber towel.. _________________ Disclaimer: This is my opinion, my opinion only

I'm sure it will probably work for what you're looking for it to do... You might get some odd looks from the neighbors though... |

I've seen salesmen use leaf blowers to blow the snow off cars in dealers here. _________________ Back off kids, this is not an ice cream truck.

The easiest way to get most of the water off your truck without the leaf blower is to do the "trickle" trick heh.. You take the spray nozzle off the hose and let it flow gently out of the hose, such that if your car is clean and previously waxed, the water should roll off the truck easily.
Anything left over you go over with the shammy or microfiber..
Alot of people use that leaf blower method, but it's too much work, unless you already have one http://autopia.org/forum/guide-detailing/ for car cleaning tips
2 bucket washing method = A MUST!

I use always 2 buckets (with gritt guard) for washing. One soap, one just water.
For drying i use a California Jellyblade and a Meguiars watermagnet.
Just a few minutes work. Ok, i have a 3door.. _________________ MY RAV |

Be careful when using a power washer around your tires. A recent article in a tire magazine warned not to power wash the tires as the high frequency water pulses can damage the sidewall cords thus weakening the sidewalls which can lead to premature tire failure. _________________ 4ever
